Nach langer Ankündigung wurde die Ortung von 121,5 und 243 MHz Notsendern im Februar 2009 eingestellt.
At the end of Ferbuary 2009 the signal processing on 121,5 and 243 MHz frequencies was terminated.
Das COSPAS-SARSAT-Satelliten System besteht aus zwei sich ergänzenden Systemen: LEOSAR (Satelliten in polar-orbitaler Erdumlaufbahn) und GEOSAR (geo-stationäre Satelliten). Details dazu weiter unten im Text.
The COSPAS-SARSAT-Satellite System consists of two seperate systems:
LEOSAR (earth orbiting satellites) and GEOSAR (geostationary satellites). Details follow in the text below
